The uranus (sToa 8 technology)

Uranus is a light flexible shielded twin-core interconnect cable in blue-azure color. It is the first cable we have made in our program and it constitutes the first banner of our products. In order to achieve a balance between quality and price for this cable we considered that no detail was insignificant.
The differences in sound introduced to a system by uranus interconnect cable are demonstrably often of the same order as changing one of the major system components such as an amplifier or a cd player.
The two signal conductors are specially made of 99.999% (5N) extra soft temper pure fine silver, which has the best conductivity of all metals. By using individually insulated solid core conductors we eliminate strand interactions multi-stranded cables suffer from.
The manufacturing process eliminates the surface mechanical anomalies improving the electrical signal transmission properties, thus giving extremely low distortion, especially in high frequencies.

Each one of them is perfectly cleaned in a two-stage cleaning procedure. In the first stage a strong cleaning process eliminates corrosion, and polishes the surface in order to increase conductivity. In the second stage, by using a special liquid we make a deep final cleaning of the subtraction remains from the first stage, preparing the conductor surface treatment.
To eliminate the problem of silver corrosion in the course of time, a thick liquid treatment oil is being used, specially designed for this purpose. The same oil is standardly applied to all our extra soft temper pure fine silver conductors. The result is a time-lasting stable product capable of avoiding chemical attacks, protected from atmospheric pollutants. This liquid treatment also works:

• As a metal to dielectric suspension, reducing the vibrations coming from the current running through the audio cables and the loudspeakers themselves, rendering any microphonic effects insignificant.
• As a lubricant, reducing dramatically the friction between the silver conductor and the dielectric tube avoiding the static electricity (conveyance of electrons) distortion.

By using a specific process, each end of our silver conductors is perfectly polished, thus becoming elliptical to avoid electric evacuations.
The insulation tubing of the two conductors is made of PTFE, which is the original Teflon® formulation and has the lowest dielectric constant of all plastics.
Total cable capacitance (tendency to 'swallow up' the alternating changing voltage) including metal shield and connectors, one of the most important electrical properties of an analogue interconnect cable, is a very low 62 pF/meter. These primary characteristics of uranus interconnect are being achieved as a result of applying "sToa 8 technology" to it.
Our sToa 8 technology is a combination of very carefully chosen raw materials and a new effective cable geometry, giving lower linear distortion, noise protection, Electro-Magnetic Interference (EMI) elimination, and the minimum metal-to- insulation surface contact in most of our cables. Likewise, this technology allows conductors to make micro movements under magnetic force caused by the current offering an additional suspension.

Our patented Natural Flow Cooling System keeps the conductors temperature stable and quite low, increasing conductivity and eliminating farther corrosion as any chemical activity. Moreover this cable is airproofed by carefully isolating the sensitive silver conductors out of the atmosphere and penetration of humidity keeping the capacitance stable and low.
As for properly balanced sound reproduction the inductive and capacitive values in this cable are optimized, absolutely direct signal transmission without any distortion is achieved.
Over the two separately Teflon® insulated extra soft temper pure fine silver conductors a heavy 99.99% pure copper Amorphous shield layer is applied, reducing and practically eliminating the Radio Frequency Interference (RFI) signals, grounded only at one end of the cable in order to avoid the creation of a parallel circuit, commonly known as a ground loop. This screen drains away all unwanted noises to the ground of the signal source. Hence, the uranus is also suited for use as a high quality phono cable as well as an excellent digital interconnect.

The signal direction is indicated by an arrow printed in the outer label of the uranus cable. The printed arrow indicates the direction of the signal flow.
The use of liquid treatment oil on the pure copper film surface ensures a free corrosion copper screen and a moisture protected cable, while offering an external suspension.
A very flexible PVC layer -separately surrounded by a blue-azure color halogen free polyethylene jacket- stabilizes the entire system, providing excellent flexibility, electric insulation, and durability. This layer is independently hanging to the connectors using our patented Elastic hanging mechanism, offering significant advantages thus rendering uranus practically uninfluenced by any alteration in the wires metal structure.
Total cable weight remains remarkably low (30 gram/m) in order to protect your delicate equipment sockets.

The uranus interconnect cable is available with our minimal metal content, gold plated RCA high quality connectors. These superb conductivity connectors are designed to present significant low capacitance.
Before lead-free and halogen-free soldering, using high purity, 4% silver solder, we apply pressure to stabilize the conductors and ensure a suitable low resistance contact. The process of melting and solidifying takes place within narrow temperature ranges so that the surface of the solder joint remains smooth and corrosion protected. This connecting method seems to provide the best signal transfer results.

A thick liquid treatment oil is applied on the solder surface as well as on all our RCA connectors to eliminate corrosion increasing contact electrical stability. In addition, each connector is protected from dust and corrosion by a red soft plastic heavy duty cover cup. After unpacked we recommend not disposing the plastic cover cups. Use them in order to protect the unused RCA sockets to your amplifier from moisture, dust, corrosion and any accidental insert.
Before packing we use our Cables Demagnetizing Method neutralizing all metal and non-metal parts on them in a three-stage procedure.
Finally, as with all our cables, uranus is being carefully checked and separately measured and test it by a highly skilled master technician in our laboratory to ensure a reliable product, offering a significant upgrade to your beloved system.

Uranus is carefully packed in a luxury real wooden box specially designed to protect this cable and prevent any damage. Each of our wooden boxes has a unique serial number same as the cable. Inside you will find all documents and instructions manual required plus a bottle of our pastra advanced antistatic cleaner as a gift.
