Our copper conductors

Our Technology > Our Conductors

Our copper conductors have excellent conductivity. All our solid signal copper conductors are specially made of 99.99% (4N) soft temper pure fine copper. In particular, all wires are specially made of super long drawn, highly annealed, continuously cast, pure fine oxygen free copper, with less than ten parts per million impurities.

1. To eliminate the problem of copper corrosion in the course of time as well as the dielectric material effect resulting in the usual sonic signature, an extremely thin, almost transparent lacquer coating is used providing flexibility, electric insulation, and durability. The same lacquer is standardly applied to all our copper conductors.
The result is a neutral time-lasting stable product capable of avoiding chemical attacks, protected from atmospheric pollutants, thus preserving signal integrity. As the lacquer is the only dielectric material, the cable sonic signature remains extremely low.

This special-made lacquer coating also works:

  • As a dielectric effect reducer since beyond the extremely thin lacquer coating, there is nothing but air which causes no dielectric effect.
  • As a metal to metal suspension, reducing the vibrations coming from the current running through the audio cables and the loudspeakers themselves, rendering any microphonic effects insignificant.
  • As a joint material, reducing dramatically the micro movements between the copper conductors avoiding the static electricity (conveyance of electrons) distortion.

Lacquer coating characteristics:

  • High thermal stability in the high temperature field
  • Chemical and mechanical stability in the high temperature field
  • Very high hermetic factor
  • Low angle of loss at the highest operating temperatures
  • Extreme elasticity of copper conductor.

2. Temper refers to the degree of hardness of the metal and is determined by the amount of heating and reheating used in the refining and finishing process. We use the softer copper material in order

  • to avoid causing stress in the soldering process
  • to reduce electrical resistance
  • to increase the stretch and bend resistance.

Moreover, in our listening tests, we found that the temper is actually more important to good sound than the ultimate degree of purity, in particular circumstances.

3. The manufacturing process eliminates the copper surface mechanical anomalies, improving the electrical signal transmission properties, thus giving extremely low distortion. Especially high frequencies become extensive but at the same time have a quite satisfying sweetness and polish, avoiding the usual excessive sharpness.

  • By using a specific process, each end of the silver conductors is perfectly polished, thus becoming elliptical to avoid electric evacuations.
  • By using individually-insulated solid core conductors we eliminate strand interactions multi-stranded cables suffer from. In a way, the signal cables are only an extension of an audio amplifier's internal circuits.

4. In some advanced models we use nanotubes treated nude copper conductors specially made of 99.999% soft temper pure fine copper which is exclusively made by photogenic (first-born) ore. Those advanced conductors are carefully maintained in order to eliminate the surface mechanical anomalies and perfectly cleaned, same as all our silver conductors, in a two-stage cleaning procedure thus improving the electrical signal transmission properties, giving extremely low distortion.
